FAQ’s

What kinds of counseling do you offer?

We see a wide variety of people for individual, couples and pre-marital, marital and family counseling. In addition, we offer Career and Financial Counseling. See our Therapeutic Specialties page for more information.

How do I make an appointment with a counselor?

Give us a call at 303-834-7389 and we will match you to a counselor based on your needs. We regret that we are unable to accommodate walk-in appointments and cannot guarantee same-day appointments.

Who Will I Work with?

The majority of the time, people seeking therapy request a specific therapist or counselor. In the case that they do not, we assign a professional based upon a variety of factors including your availability, the professional’s availability, specific issues, and/or preferences.  Unless you specifically request a professional, we will assess your needs during the intake process and our Clinical Director will assign an appropriate professional with the skills needed to help you and your loved ones get back to the level of functioning you want.

I’ve never gone to counseling before. What can I expect?

For counseling to be fruitful, you and your counselor must establish trust. It may take a few sessions for your counselor to get to know you before moving into actual therapy.

In the early stages, you can expect your counselor to ask many questions. Your counselor will work with you to define the presenting problem you’re seeking help with, discuss your goals for counseling and determine next steps.

Because counseling is dynamic and interactive, you should feel free to ask questions to help you connect with your counselor as you progress through the counseling experience together.

Where are you located?

We are located at 709 3rd Avenue in Longmont, CO 80501. Free parking is available in front of and behind our building.

Do you have sessions in the evenings or on weekends?

We do have a limited number of evening and weekend sessions available, and we will do our best to accommodate your scheduling needs.

How many sessions do I need?

Because each case is different, your counselor will ascertain your needs and discuss a treatment plan with you.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my session?

You must notify your counselor 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time to cancel or reschedule. Otherwise, you will be responsible for the full fee. Exceptions are made in emergency situations only.

What if I am running late to my session?

Please contact your counselor directly on their personal line. Leaving a message on our general reception line does not ensure that your counselor will be notified.

How Much Do Sessions Cost?

Our fees range depending on the professional with whom you work. Our fee structure includes senior clinicians at the top of the scale, interns at the lower end of the scale, and associates in between the two. Sessions range between 50-minutes to 120 minutes for individuals, couples, or family meetings. Monthly retainers are available if your need for support requires more interaction and time than a traditional session format will allow. We do offer discounts when available.

Payment

Payment is due at each session. We accept credit cards, cash or checks. Checks should be made payable to “Aspen Counseling Group” or “ACG” unless otherwise instructed by your clinician. Please also list the name of your clinician on the “Memo” line of the check. Accounts must be kept current in order to continue services through us.

Do you take any health insurance?

Unfortunately, we are not able to accept insurance at this time. However, we can provide a letter of receipt for you to file with your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
